SURROUNDINGS:
The apartment is within walking distance of a M&S, Aldi and Co-op supermarkets, and is located right in the centre of Inverness. Close to the airport and within an hours reach of the Cairngorms Parks, as well as just over an hour from the port towns on the North West coast of Scotland, from which the award winning white sand beaches can be easily reached, such as Achmelvich and Clachtoll beaches. Alternatively, head on by boat to the breath-taking, Middle Earth-esque Isles of Harris or Stornoway. Whether you fancy a day of gazing at the crystal clear waters relaxing on powder sand or waterfall spotting while hiking through the lush green landscapes of the National Parks, or both, staying in Inverness makes perfect sense.

Inverness itself boasts a whole host of historic buildings, particularly concentrated in the Old Town, which can be marvelled at while perusing the famous Victorian Market in the centre (bookworms be sure not to miss Leakey’s second hand bookshop!). Inverness castle is currently used as a courthouse and the beautiful St Andrew’s Cathedral overlooks the River Ness, providing a breath-taking riverside view. Have a go at fishing for Atlantic Salmon, or simply stand and watch the experienced anglers on the Ness islands. For forest walks and stunning views of Moray Firth head up to Craig Phadrig, and if you’re lucky you may even spot bottlenose dolphins! The Maritime Museum and Highland Archive Centre provide a fascinating insight into the region’s history, while the tropical gardens at Floral Hall are an ideal relaxation spot. Whether you want to fine dine in a world class restaurant such as Contrast Brasserie or Rocpool, or go more cosy and organic with Velocity Café or Nourish, you won’t find yourself short of options for food in Inverness.

Whether your chosen mode of transport is car, foot or bike, whatever the weather, Inverness and beyond provide a unique and particularly epic array of landscapes. The green vibrancy of spring across the majestic mountains give way to lush purple heather in summer, before turning all shades of gold and red in autumn, a fitting preclude to the flawless and almost surreal layer of snow that coats the mountains in winter. The dramatic natural environment is a haven for photographers, nature lovers, writers, artists and tourists alike, with an atmosphere unlike anywhere else, and you can even see the Northern Lights! Bursting with culture, history and natural delight, there is something for everyone in Inverness and beyond!
